Vacation is the time to indulge in extreme. Most of us wait the whole year to plan
for it and when the actual time comes, sometimes tend to overlook limits, especially
in the case of spending, eating, and shopping. While it is acceptable to stretch
the boundaries occasionally, it becomes an issue when you have worked hard to get
something and feel disappointed to just let it go. Staying in shape is one those
things that can get a little tough when visiting places which have plenty of food
varieties to offer.
If this is what is worrying you, think no further. Here's your guide to avoid
unhealthy weight gain during vacation:
Don't deprive
yourself of anything on the first few days of vacation.
After three or
four days, when you have tasted everything special that the town/place has to offer,
it's time to get choosy. Go for only those foods that you thoroughly enjoyed
and leave the average for others to clean.
If you are someone
who likes to eat a BIG meal and controlling the proportion of food is out of your
hand, treat yourself with a satisfying meal once in the day, preferably during the
early evening and skip everything else.
If you like to
snack in between, eat in small quantities and avoid heavy meals.
The sweet addicts
must make it a point to walk as much as they can and avoid taking taxi or driving
a car to nearby locations.
Strictly avoid
aerated drinks as they contain HUGE amount of calories. Drink water while eating.
Don't carry/buy chocolates or chewing gums.
Whenever you get an unavoidable desire to eat something that you can avoid, remind
yourself of small things such as how hard you've saved to get here and what
you can do with the money you'll save, how adventurous you can make your vacation,
or anything else that can help you fight the urge of eating unnecessary.
