Anchorage
At only 30-minute drive from Alaskan wilderness, Anchorage offers all the
comforts of a large US metropolitan. Great outdoors is much more than just a way
of life here. Founded in early 1900s as a work camp for the Alaska Railroad,
the city has been through its share of ups and downs. It was once completely destroyed
by an earthquake but its spirit rebounded quickly to give it a chic shape that it
has today. As the political and economic heart of Alaska, Anchorage offers vacationers
immense expanses of greenbelts, micro breweries, skiing slopes, thriving

Hillside. If bear or special birds are what you'd like to spot, speak to
tour operators and plan day-long excursions to either Denali or Katmai National
Parks.
- Chugach Mountains
The Chugach Mountain trail stretches from Glen Alps to the Indian side. It passes
through a glacier-cut beautiful valley, behind the cirque at the top and
over the namesake pass, going downward to the other trailhead. The trail does
get a bit tough in between and visitors with severe medical conditions are advised
to avoid it or take necessary precautions.
You can also spot moose and other wildlife on this track. Trails total length is
12 mile (one way).
