Transportation from the airport
Airport Bus Service
The Silver Line, run by MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority)
has the rapid bus transit service that connects South Station, Amtrak and Red
Line subway with all the terminals of the Logan International Airport. Tickets for
the Silverline are sold at every terminal building at the right side of the lower
level. There are free shuttles to connect Blue Line and the airport terminal.
Taxi
The Massachusetts Port Authority takes care of the taxi operations at all the terminals
of Logan Airport. Recently, the regulation of Massport has been reduced to keeping
a check on how many taxis are present within airport premises at a given point of
time, ensuring that taxis do not unnecessary block the way at the entrance or
departure and prohibiting taxis from picking passengers from anywhere on the airport
except from the designated stands, that are located at the lower curb of every
terminal.
Metered rates from the airport to Downtown and other places range from $30 -
$70.
Water Shuttle
Perhaps the most exciting way of leaving the terminal is through water shuttles
that are also operated by MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority).
Commuting through them is easy and quick, especially if you are not carrying
excessive luggage. During the tourist season, the MBTA offers rides to many
Downtown attractions through this waterfront. There is a free shuttle bus that ferries
passengers between the terminals and airport dock.
Car Rental
The Car Rental Center
in Boston is located near the entrance of the airport. If you are arriving
in the city, follow the rental car signboards after collecting
you baggage. From the lower level of every terminal, rental car shuttle services
run every five minutes and reach the Rental Car Center in within 10 minutes.
The departing passengers are required to return the vehicle to the Rental car
