Airport Shuttle Service
Sprinter Enhanced Bus Service offers services to connect the airport to the downtown
Charlotte Transportation Center (the route was formerly known as "Route
5-Airport"). It's stop is located in front of Zone D Baggage Claim
in the commercial lanes.
The shuttle runs from the airport every 15-20 minutes from Monday - Friday,
5:50 am to 7:00 pm. After 7:00 pm, the shuttle service is offered
every 30 minutes until 12:00 am. On weekends, Sprinter operates every hour
from 6:00 am to 8:00 am, 9:00pm to 1:00am and every 30 minutes
from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm. It takes approximately 20 minutes to reach downtown
to airport. One-way fare is $1.75.
Taxi
Regular taxi service is available curbside, near to the Baggage Claim level.
You can always find an attendant from 6:45 am to 12:15 am. Meter rates start
from $2.50 and additional $.50 per each 1/5th mile. The mileage outside
the city is charged at the rate of $2.00 per mile and whenever the vehicle speed
falls below 15 miles per hour, either due to traffic or bad weather, a time
rate of $.50 per minute is charged instead of moving charge. Additional passengers
cost $2 each, except for the children under 3 years of age.
Hotel/Motel Courtesy Vehicles
Many hotels and motels provide courtesy vehicles that are available at the transport
section of the airport. Enquire at Traveler Information Centers on the Baggage Claim
Level for more information.
Car Rental
The
Charlotte car rental center is located at the end of baggage claim area,
right next to the exit section. If you are arriving in the city; follow the
rental car signboards after collecting you baggage. The departing passengers are
required to return the vehicle to the car rental Center. Please
contact your
car rental company for off-site car pickups.
