Cheap Car Rental in IND - Indianapolis Airport
Indianapolis
As the 12th largest city in United States, Indianapolis has much more to offer
than a regular tourist destination. Its name is derived from the Greek word for
city - 'polis'. Indianapolis is also nicknamed the 'Nap Town'
by some 'live-in-the-moment' kind of people who find it a kind
of snore-evoking city with the exception of Indy 500 Museum, where anyone
can ogle racecars and buy tickets to take one of them for a spin around the world
renowned speedway. The White River State Park, Monument circle, and art
museum have their merits too.
Rent a car in Indianapolis and enjoy the appealing beauty of the city at
your leisure.

Here are the top five places to visit in Indianapolis:
- Monument Circle
The face of Indianapolis is the 17 story tall structure at the Monument Circle.
In addition to this, it also has a monument which is dedicated to the veterans
of the American Civil War. The monument was completed in 1903 and stands tall at
284' (87m). During summer, visiting the circle is fun. It has huge
fountains and offers a great ambience to listen to the water and relax. Underneath
the monument is the Col. Eli Lilly Civil War Museum depicting Indiana's involvement
in the war. Take the elevator to the top of the monument and look over the vast
spread city.
- The Motor Speedway
No trip to Indianapolis is complete without a visit to The Indy 500 Motor Speedway
built in 1909. If you are not a racing car buff, visiting the city during the
Memorial Day weekend will make you one. The day is marked with a 500 mile race participated
in by teams of international fame and attended by more than 400,000 fans. The
Motor Speedway also runs the NASCAR Allstate 400 during July which is a 400 mile
stock car race, all packed with thrill, and second only to the one in Daytona
Beach. During August, there's a motorcycle race called Red Bull Indianapolis
Cup.
The Motor Speedway museum is easy to find and charges $3 per person as the entrance
fee. For another $3, you can take the bus ride circling the 2.5-mile
track with a live commentary. Phone: (317) 492-6784. Website:
