Located on the eastern side of city, the Kahului Airport is a regional airport of Hawai'i. Most flights that land at the airport originate from Honolulu International Airport, making the Honolulu-Kahului corridor as one of the busiest air routes in America. In 2005 more than 1,700,000 passengers crossed the gates of this airport, making it the 13th most active airports in America.

The buses usually run on two different routes - Route 40 (Upcountry Islander), which operates at the time gap of every 90 minutes from 7:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Route 35 (Haiku Islander), operating every 90 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The fare is $1 per ride and passengers are allowed to carry a medium-sized suitcase in addition to a carry-on bag or a duffle bag. Anyone carrying more luggage than this is expected to either place it under the seat or on lap in order to avoid any inconvenience to others.

If you are arriving in the city; follow the rental car signboards after collecting you baggage. The departing passengers are required to return the vehicle to the car rental Center.
