Transportation from the airport
Airport Shuttle Service
There are plenty of companies that offer shuttle services from the airport. To contact
them, you can speak to the ground staff at the baggage claim area. There's
a shuttle after every 10 minutes to the Downtown and neighborhood suburban regions.
Bus
Though the Oakland International Airport is yet to start a smooth public transportation
system, the BART and AirBART offer services after every hour connecting airport
to the city's major places. Passengers can call the Regional Public Transportation
Hotline at 510-817-1717 for more information. Line 73 and AirBART run during
regular hours from about 5:00 a.m. midnight. Line 805 is a night bus service
operating from midnight to 5:00 a.m.
Train
The airport is well connected by the Amtrak. Check their website for details on
how to reach and the timings -may vary as per the weekdays-.
Taxi
Door-to-door air-conditioned taxis cab services are readily available.
Taxis are available from the lower level curbfront of all the terminals of the airport.
Passengers going in the same direction can also opt for shared ride service. All
taxis run on meter and there is no flat rate. The usual fare from O'Hare to
Downtown is $40.
Car Rental
The Oakland
Car Rental center is located at the end of baggage claim area, right
next to the exit section. If you are arriving in the city; follow the rental
car signboards after collecting you baggage. The departing passengers are required
to return the vehicle to the car rental center. Please contact

rental company for off-site car pickups.
