The Salt Lake City International Airport is located 5 miles (8 km) North West from the central business district. It has 2 terminals for the domestic travelers and an international terminal. This international airport is the hub for Delta Connection carriers - Mesaba Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, that amount to nearly 75% of the total departures. The Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) ranked number one among all the United States airports in on-time arrivals and departures in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. The airport also has the record in the fewest flight cancellations among all the American airports.

Driving Directions

Interstate 80 connects airport to the Salt Lake City. The exit of the airport is just west of the intersection, right next to I-15 and I-215. To go to the Salt Lake City, take Interstate 80 east at the intersection.

Airport Shuttle Service

Bus

The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) runs bus services from the airport to the city center every half an hour during the daytime and every one hour after 7:00 pm. Usual one way fare is $2.00. Passengers can find the bus stops in the parking structure between Terminal One and Two. Check beforehand about the service availability if traveling on weekends and holidays by calling at 801-287-4636.

Train

The airport is well connected by the Amtrak. Check their website for details on how to reach and the timings (may vary as per the weekdays).

Taxi

Car Rental

The Salt Lake City car rental center is located at the end of baggage claim area, right next to the exit section. If you are arriving in the city; follow the car rental signboards after collecting you baggage. The departing passengers are required to return the vehicle to the car rental Center.
