Cheap Car Rental in TUS - Tucson Airport
Tucson
Wrapped up in the majestic beauty of green forests and spectacular mountain peaks,
Tucson blends the loveliness of a natural world with the enthusiasm of a prosperous
city. Tucson has always been a crossroads. People come here to get pleasure from
unlimited outdoor adventures, exceptionally mouthwatering Southwestern cuisine,
thriving arts scene, and great shopping bargains. Despite of its location in
the middle of desert, water is relatively plentiful in Tucson and that has made
it an agricultural center of the state.
Rent a car in Tucson and discover Tucson at your leisure.
The city has Mexican and American Indian roots spread deep into it. Mexican origin
residents widely speak Spanish and run a number of restaurants throughout the city.
As predictable, their taste is a bit hot and spicy. Many tourists like to taste
Indian Fry Bread too that is available outside many tourist attractions. The city's
architecture is heavily influenced by American and Mexican themes. Buildings with
their tiled roofs, adobe like walls, and sometimes neatly manicured gardens
exhibit the Mexican influence.

Here's a list of what you can spend your time on while in the city:
- Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
It is a museum, botanical garden, and zoo in one. You'll find many indoor
museums exhibiting everything about the desert, animals, and the culture
of the town. If a distinctive plant is what you like to collect, check out the
little nursery in the backyard that is so small that it might get closed soon.
The hummingbird garden is the favorite of many. It is a perfect spot several species
of hummers inhabiting in one tiny area. Go at a time when you can see them easily
and hear them around.

- Sabino Canyon
Located on the outskirts of Tucson, Sabino Canyon is a breathtaking state park.
Hike though trails on the hills or sit by the beautiful river. Tip: The Canyon
is visited by lot of people and it gets too heated to be there during afternoon.
So start early to avoid the worst heat of the day.

- Saguaro National Park
Reaching up to 40 feet, Saguaro (actually pronounced as SA-WAR-O)
is the largest cactus in the US and the most photographed cacti in the state of
Arizona. Though available at many places in Arizona, especially near California
border and Phoenix, Saguaro National Park at Tucson is the place to see plenty
of them together. If you visit Tucson during spring (mid May), seeing
Saguaro can be a lovely experience as they bloom during that season.

- Summerhaven
A great treat to escape the summer desert heat, Summerhaven is known for its
tiny shops and restaurants. Some part of it was destroyed in the summer fire of
2003 and you can still see the marks of the damage to the forest.
- 4th Avenue
A trendy place to hang out, 4th Ave is typically for tough chicks and rock dudes.
The decor has images of roller derby jerseys, painted ladies, and a huge
poster of Angelina Jolie. Sometimes The Surly Wench attracts a very interesting
crowd with alternative lifestyles enjoying the live music of punk, or trash
variety. Hours are 5PM to 2AM.
- Colossal Cave Mountain Park

- University of Arizona
This is what students come to Tucson for - to have a look at the University
and fill in courses if they like it enough. The main route to campus is through
University Boulevard. Quite naturally, first few blocks outside the campus house
a series of cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and shops of interest to
the college students.
- San Xavier del Bac Mission
Located on the Indian Territory, the mission's church is evidently visible
from the motorway. Visitors are expected to follow markers to the church once they
are off the motorway. All the other connecting roads have a "no trespassing"
notices. Though the inside of church is small, but it's very tastefully
decorated. The altar is splendid and the wooden seats are unusual.
- Pima Air and Space Museum
For the people in love with WWII military history, a visit to the PIMA Air &
Space Museum is a "must do". This museum is the biggest non-government
funded aviation museum in the world and is home to some of history's most technically
advanced crafts. Opens daily from 9 am - 5 pm; last admission is 4pm!!
Rates vary from $15 in June to $13 in November.
